Do you like the look of heat-embossing but not quite sure where to begin? It's really easy to achieve a professional look with only a few basic supplies. All you'll need is an embossing tool (heat gun), a stamp, embossing ink, and embossing powder.
The first step is to ink your stamp in embossing ink, then press the stamp onto your project. While the ink is still wet, pour embossing powder over the stamped image. Lift the project up, then tap and pour the excess powder back into its container. Tap your paper lightly to knock loose any extra powder (it's just like making cinnamon toast!). I use the craft tray for this, just tap over the tray and pour the excess powder back into the container using the tray mouth just like a funnel. The craft tray also works great when decorating cookies to get the sprinkles back in the jar. You are now ready to apply heat. Hold the heat gun 4-5" from the surface of your project, turn on, and heat the image. As the embossing powder melts, it will change from a powder to a shimmery surface. Once the entire surface is shiny, you're done and voila you've just heat-embossed your first image! You can also heat- emboss with our White Daisy ink and then chalk over the embossed image for a different look.
Whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced stamper, a heat tool is a basic need in the stamping world. Quickly and easily set your embossing powder, Liquid Applique, set ink, shrink plastic and much more with this handy tool. The CTMH Craft Heater gives consistant heat up to 450 degrees while staying cool to the touch, making it a safe, effective option for all your heat setting needs Although this craft heater will not scorch your project, keep the tool moving when heat setting to avoid over melting a particular area.
