A basic yet essential stamping technique, random stamping is the way to personalize papers for scrapbooking or cards. Stamp one or more colors on white for a custom design or stamp on colored paper with the same ink color for subtle tone-on-tone texture.
Basic Instructions
Start by stamping the first image in the corner of your page. Stamp the second image close to the first image, rotating slightly to one side. The next image should create a visual triangle between this image and the first two, rotating the image slightly to the other side. Continue like this until you have filled the whole sheet.
More Tips:
- Always make sure to go off the edges of the paper. This makes it look truly "random".
- Begin with the largest image first. You can fill in the "holes" with a smaller image.
- For a more "formal look", stamp without rotating.
- Playful designs look best when rotated slightly to the left and right.
- Use first and second generation stamping.
