I just got back from a quick trip to Kona with with husband. It made me relax and realize how important it is to take a break from "life". But what if you can't get away? Whether it's because you don't have any vacation time or if it's just not in the budget there is a way to have family fun and to take a break from life to enjoy. For the next week I'll share some ideas so come back everyday for another way to "get-away".
Stay-Vacation is the hot trend of vacationing at home. But how can the same four walls you see everyday feel like a vacation? It's all in the planning and the attitude. Here's what you can do to help your staycation feel like a true break from the everyday. So get yourself ready for day one tomorrow!
- Create an "actual departure". Leave the house and arrive back home ready for some fun. Play a fun game like I Spy along the way.
- Have fun with meals, either eat out or picnic in the yard or local park.
- Prepare ahead of time by taking care of bills, errands and chores so you won't have to bother with it on staycation.
- Take pictures and gather souvenirs to scrapbook later.
- Inform family, friends and neighbors you are on staycation and better yet, invite them in for the fun!
