I have had more fun creating with this set.  I made cute treat bags using the journaling block.  My treat bags were 4 inches across so I cut the bag topper at 6 inches by 4 inches.  I folded it in half and stapled it to a bag of candy.  Easy and cute!  Here is a card I copied out of the Close To My Heart Idea Book (Autum/winter 2009) with the Beware stamp set.  Looks hard but it was very very easy, just the way I like it, un huh!!!!

This one uses the stamp sets Beware (the bat and happy halloween images) and Creepy Cobwebs (the spiders web).  Fun Fun Fun!!!! 

   

ooey and gooey

Use Liquid Glass on stamped images to make them look wet.  Used with the Merry Monsters stamp set  the Liquid Glass adds dimension and provides adhesive for the wiggly eyes.

saturday marmalade muffins

Blend together 1 1/2 c flour, 1/2 c sugar, 1 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp salt

In another bowl mix 1/2 c orange juice, 1/3 c orange marmalade, 6 T melted butter, 1 egg

Mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients just until combined.

Divide batter into 12 muffin tins and bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes

Serve warm, yummy scrummy!

technique tuesday - solid stamping

To create a muli-colored effect with a solid-style stamp use sponge daubers and various inks.  This allows you to add shading and depth to the image.

If you ouline your design elements with a fine-tip pen it will really make them "pop".  Try it out and see if you like it better.

technique tuesday - fun with flock

Flock adds that fuzziness factor to your project.  It's a great product to use to make "snow" or fur.  For best results use a glue pen and let glue dry for a moment before adding flock.  Pour a good amount over glue and press down with your finger.  Let it dry then shake off the excess.  see fun flock here  Fun Flock Z134 $4.25 order online at www.cherielynn.myctmh.com or contact me!

the new "it" color is...

MAGENTA.  According to InSyle and nail pro Jin Soon Choi, "it's the perfect compliment to all of this season's jewel-toned clothing".  She says to "avoid an exact match-magenta on magent is overkill and will look dated (can't have that!).  The darker your skin the darker the nail polish you can wear.  I think I'll try OPI's Ate Berries in the Canaries.  I love OPI polish!  

home decorating tips

One great style tip from interior designer Andrea Monath Schumacher of O Interior Design shares in Colorado Homes magazine is to "Splurge on the little things for a rich look."  She suggests using expensive, high-end fabrics sparingly like on decorative pillows.  Choose a neutral palatte to easily change your room around by switching out flowers or differnt room accessories.  What a great idea!
